Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a master's degree in English literature. Mitchell started her career as a reporter for KYW Radio and TV, Philadelphia in the year 1967. In 1976, she was a CBS affiliate WDVM-TV. (then WTOP in Washington DC). She became a Washington general reporter with NBC News two years later. She began to cover the White House in 1981 and was named chief correspondent for the congressional office by 1988. Mitchell was appointed Chief White House reporter in 1992 as well as the chief Foreign Affairs reporter at NBC News. Mitchell was a panelist on the TV show Meet the Press and also host of the show. Mitchell participated on a panel during the debate in 1988 among George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell won the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism in 2005, which was awarded by the John F. Kennedy School of Government. The Radio-Television News Directors Association awarded Mitchell Leonard Zeidenberg the award in 2004 to recognize her efforts in defending First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell began covering for the White House for NBC News between 1981 and 1988 during the entirety of Ronald Reagan's presidency. Her reporting included a number of significant stories, including the Iran-Contra controversy, tax and budget reforms and also the issue of arms control. She traveled widely along with President Reagan to meet along with Mikhail Gorbachev.
